Hi, friends and readers:
My novella, titled Maui, was released yesterday by Torquere Press. I visited the Hawaiian island of Maui in April 2008, to surf and explore, and it’s the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to. Not only is it visually stunning, but the folks who live there are among the friendliest I have encountered in my travels to date. After I left, I knew I would have to write a story set on the island.
Update, 2012: Maui is no longer available from Torquere, but the book has been re-released by Noble Romance Publishing. Click on the cover in the sidebar at right, and you can check out Maui at Noble’s website.
At present, this novella is only available in e-book format from Torquere. Here’s the blurb:
When Ishmael Fanning, a Florida surfer and grade school teacher, gets dumped by his partner of seven years, he relocates to the Hawaiian island of Maui. There he quickly finds himself involved with two younger men, Corey, a competition surfer, and Spencer, who works in a skateboard shop.
Eventually, Ishmael must choose between Corey and Spencer, and it’s not an easy decision for him to make. Spencer’s not the brightest guy, but he has a sensitive side that appeals to Ishmael. Corey’s a prize-winning surfer, he’s got two years of college and he looks like a fashion model, but his sexual orientation troubles him.
Both Spencer and Corey want Ishmael as a lover. Which guy will Ishmael choose?
If you are a fan of male/male romance and you like sexually explicit scenes set in a tropical paradise, then I think you’ll enjoy reading Maui. At 11,000 words, it’ll take you a few sittings to read the entire story. main_page=product_info&products_id=2319
I’m very pleased with the way the story turned out. It’s romantic and sexy and the setting’s, of course, beautiful.
*Update 2/25/2012: Maui went “out of print” in late 2011. It was later picked up as a re-release by Noble Romance Publishing. If you want to check it out, click on the cover in the sidebar at right.
Have a nice Sunday, all.
