I got up this morning and looked at the calendar and shook my head. Can you believe it? Only two more days and 2009 is history. It’s been a great year for me. I’ve accomplished much with my writing. I spent a wonderful summer in Berlin. I had interesting dates with a dozen different guys in Germany and in Florida. I took several surfing trips. (Some more successful than others.) And I’ve made some new friends. My health has been great and I’ve sold a novel (Coming out next month.) and several short stories. What more could I ask for?
It seems to me it’s important, at this time of year, to reflect on all that’s happened in our lives since January first, to count our blessings, and maybe decide to change a few things in the year ahead.
I do want to thank all of you who have followed this blog during 2009, especially those who’ve sent me comments from all over the U. S. and from foreign lands. It seems like I’ve established a “venting” site for gay boys/men who are skateboarders and surfers, which is cool. Keep on writing me, guys. I love hearing from you.
It’s a beautiful morning here on the island — sunny and a bit warmer than yesterday, with a light breeze. Just perfect. I’ll write this morning, then hit the YMCA this afternoon. This evening I’ll join friends in the city for dinner.
Have a nice Wednesday, all.
