The weatherman’s not always right, but today he was. A cold front passed over Florida sometime around three AM today and now it’s rainy, windy and overcast. Hey, I’m not complaining. We’ve had perfect weather in west central Florida for a week. I can handle a bit of rain, but I had hoped to take a friend to my fishing camp this weekend and now those plans are dashed. The wind will be blowing between 10-20 MPH for the next three days, and that ruins boating and fishing. Oh, well.
Yesterday, I officially became part of 21st Century technology: I bought an iPhone 3GS 16GB with Internet service. I brought it home yesterday afternoon and played with it for three hours and already I love it. What a cool device. My only difficulty was accessing my e-mail accounts, which required certain adjustments to my Gmail settings. I found the solution through the Google “Help” service. Now it’s working fine and I can check e-mails when I’m on the road, anytime. Text messaging is a breeze. I can take photos and videos. I can get directions to anywhere I want to go. It’s amazing, and I’m only getting started. Why didn’t I do this sooner?
I’ll do a bit of writing this morning, then it’s off to the YMCA. Since I’d planned on fishing this weekend, I didn’t make any other plans, so I’m not sure what I’ll be doing the next few days. Maybe I’ll take a iPod tutorial one afternoon.
Enjoy your Friday, all.
