Do you like the photo I’ve posted here this morning? There’s something about certain blue-eyed guys … It’s like you can see inside their soul when your gaze meets theirs. Know what I mean?
Yesterday’s lengthy post about gay skateboarders is drawing a flood of comments from gay skaters, straight skaters (some homophobic, some not), and even a few from mothers of gay skaters. A lot of folks wrote to say how bad they felt for Julian, the young man whose comment I posted yesterday.
One guy, a university student at UCSF who is gay and skates, offered to befriend Julian, which I thought was nice, but I had to tell him, “Sorry, my blog policy doesn’t allow me to put people in touch with one another. I don’t want it to turn into a social networking site.”
It’s another beautiful day on the island. The sun is shining, there’s a light breeze blowing, and we’re headed for a high of 82 degrees F. I’ll be working on my new YA novel this morning; it’s a major project that’ll keep me busy the next couple of months. This afternoon I’ll visit the YMCA for a workout, a bit of basketball, and lap-swimming in the pool. I have no plans for this evening, nor any for the weekend. Frankly, I’m happy to spend a few quiet nights at home.
Enjoy your Friday, everyone.
