Well, it’s beach season here in west central Florida. Time to shed those clothes, stroll along the shore, wade into the Gulf, or lie in the sand and brown your skin. Everyone like tonight’s photo? What a body! I wonder if he’ll be sunning himself at the beach down the street from my house this weekend? If so, I’ll rub sunscreen on his back for him. (Or anyplace else he needs it applied.)
I’m home from the YMCA, feeling relaxed and freshly showered. I stopped by the booze market on the way home and stocked up on beer and wine for the weekend. As mentioned in my last post, I’ll attend a friend’s birthday party here on the island, around 6:30 PM, but I don’t know what I’ll do with the later hours of the evening.
I just learned another story of mine has sold. It’s titled Closet Case and it will appear in a Cleis Press anthology titled Best Gay Erotica 2011. The expected release date is November 2010. Why such a long delay? A tremendous amount of back-and-forth editing between the authors, editor, and publishing house must take place between the time stories are selected and the book goes to press.
Closet Case is a gritty and sensual story about a guy who gets dumped by his closeted boyfriend. He’s angry and depressed for the longest time, until he meets another closeted guy in a gay bar and takes him home for a bit of kinky sex. I’m quite proud my story was selected, as this was a literary competition, judged by a very talented writer, Kevin Killian, and my story was chosen from dozens submitted, for inclusion in the anthology.
Wherever you are, I hope you have wonderful Friday night.
