I’m the world’s crappiest surfer, but I enjoy myself when I get my board wet, just the same. I surf on Florida’s East Coast, in Brevard County, home of the world’s greatest surfer, Kelly Slater. But the East Coast is also home to Evan Geiselman, whose photo I’ve posted here this morning. Evan’s probably the world’s best teenage surfer, he won the Junior U. S. Men’s Open this summer against very tough competition. He’s handsome, isn’t he? And, no, I don’t know anything about Evan’s personal life. I just know he rips on the water. Keep it up, Evan.
I’ve written a few stories about gay surfers. Two have been published in print. Me And Shea was included in Best Gay Love Stories 2009, published by Alyson Books. And my story Sebastian Inlet, set in Brevard County, Florida, was included in the Cleis Press anthology titled Surfer Boys, edited by Neil Plakcy.
If you surf and you are gay, then you need to check out a website called gaysurfers.net. There’s a link in my blog roll. The site has about 2,000 members now, and I’m one myself.
On another subject, the past four days have been the busiest this blog has ever experienced, since it began in December 2008. I don’t know why. But the number of visits I’ve been drawing is pretty amazing. I guess people like photos of handsome young men. Plus, I’m sure people are fascinated by entries about my writing and my fabulous personal life.
Whatever the reason, I’m happy to have so many people visiting every day, Keep it up. I like company.
Enjoy your Saturday, everyone.
