Summertime does have its advantages, especially in Berlin, where young men shed their shirts and parade about the city streets, showing off their stuff. In Florida, it’s too stinking hot to even go outside during daytime hours, but not here. Today, I actually wore a sweatshirt part of the time, but it warmed up in mid-afternoon and i was comfortable in a t-shirt.
We got a lot done around the house today: beer/wine market, supermarket for food for today and tomorrow, two loads of laundy, and cleaning the bathroom sink, toilet and tub. Then we hit the U-Bahn to visit longtime friends of mine in Mitte, a district in the center of the city. Afterward, we visited the Sony Center at Potsdamer Platz, and I added minutes to my German, prepaid phone at a Saturn store. (It’s similar to Best Buy in the U. S.)
Tonight, we’ll cook dinner at home, then we’ll shower and hit the street. We’ll go dancing at Panorama Bar in Friedrichshain, in the eastern part of the city. It’s a huge night club with a large crowd and great dance music. I was there a few years ago and I had a wonderful evening. I like to dance, so does my boyfriend. I know we’ll have a good time.
What about you? What are you doing tonight, and with who? You know, it doesn’t matter if you’re eighteen or seventy-five, it’s important to get out among people on Saturday night. Come on, there’s nothing worth watching on TV. Put on a cool outfit and get out there. It’ll be good for you.
All right, I need to get my butt in the kitchen and prepare dinner: baked ziti, garlic bread and tossed salad. Yummy! Have a great Saturday night, all.
