See the guy at left? Isn’t he cute? When I was in high school, tenth grade, I shared a lab table with a guy named Gary who looked just like him. It was so cool … Every weekday, for an entire semester, we rubbed knees and talked about everything imaginable. He was so sexy. I wonder where Gary is today?
I know where I am, anyway. And I wouldn’t trade places with just about anyone in the world. In keeping with my new summer routine, I was out of bed at 6:45 AM. I slipped into my running shoes and dragged myself out the door, just as the sun was coming up. I ran 1-1/2 miles, then walked on the beach and took a swim in the Gulf. I won’t say my run was the smoothest; my leg muscles were kind of sore this morning, but I finished the run. The swim afterward was delicious. The Gulf was calm and just the right temperature.
This weekend, our island is mobbed with holiday visitors, which is good for the business people. Okay, the traffic’s a bit crazy, but that’s okay. After I finish writing this morning, I’ll visit the YMCA for a workout and lap-swimming. The facility’s closed tomorrow, so I’ll take care of business today.
A good friend and I are going out for dinner to a nice restaurant this evening, so the whole day’s is going to be fun. Wherever you are, I hope you’re enjoying yourself, too.
