Hi, friends and readers:
Everyone like this morning’s photo post? How come young men in the U. S. won’t wear Speedos? Guys in Europe, South America and Australia think nothing of wearing skimpy suits. Why are American men so modest about flaunting their beauty? I don’t get it.
Okay, enough cultural ranting; I’ll move on . . .
I’m up early this morning, after crashing around 10 PM last night. I slept like a log, and woke up this morning at 6 AM. I took a 1-1/2 mile walk on the beach, followed by a swim in the Gulf. It was actually a bit cooler than normal this morning, because the storm in the Atlantic is sucking up all the moisture from the air. Sadly, our humidity will return tomorrow, so this’ll be a short-lived respite from our typical weather.
My trip to Maine was a total success. We kyaked on a swift-flowing river, canoed on lakes, played golf and hiked. Every day was different and every day was fun. I saw about five moose while I was there, including a mom and her newborn calf. We saw a fox and a coyote, too. The weather in Maine during summer is superb. Highs in the upper 70s, lows in the 50s. I slept under a blanket every night.
I’ll be staying put in Florida for about three weeks, before my boyfriend and I will spend a week in a lake cottage in Wisconsin. I’ll go anyplace where the weather is cooler than Florida’s.
Today, I’ll re-commence edits on my novel, Dodging A Pearl. I’m about 25% done, so I’ll stay very busy for the duration of summer. The book’s coming along nicely. This afternoon, I’ll swim laps at the YMCA, then I’ll clean my house. It’s getting a little grungy, so I’ll get to work and make things shine.
Again, thanks to everyone who stopped by the blog while I was off in the wilds of Maine. I promise I’ll post regularly over the next three weeks. Have a great Tuesday, all.
