Hi, friends and readers:
Sometimes a boy needs to spend time alone in his bedroom, just thinking about where his life’s headed, and who he’s dating. You know what I mean? It’s good for all of us to ponder our circumstances once in a while.
The bedroom’s a good place for thinking. You can become introspective in other places too: swimming laps in a pool, running a few miles, or just taking a walk by yourself. We all need to crawl inside ourselves and have a look around occasionally, right? Just get yourself alone. Then ask yourself: Am I going in the right direction? Am I sharing life with the right person? Is my job the right one for me? Where should I go to school in the fall? Should I try out for wrestling team this year? Should I come out to my parents?
You get the idea ….
Well, it’s Friday evening. We’ve finished our workout at the YMCA. I got a haircut while my boyfriend ran a few errands. Now we’re home. We spent a little intimate time together and grabbed a shower, and now it’s time to prepare for our guests. These guys–who are straight by the way–have kicked our butts in Scrabble twice–once in Maine and once in Florida. We can’t let this happen a third time! Our strategy is to ply them with vodka/tonics before the game starts. They’ll be so trashed they won’t be able to spell “aardvark.”
Outside, it’s steamy, but inside it’s cool and dry. I’m grilling chicken breasts over charcoal, and we have Key lime pie for desert. Woo-hoo! Listen, wherever you are tonight, I hope you’re enjoying yourself. Don’t forget the Noble Romance Launch Party tomorrow. I’ll be on at four PM, and I hope to see you there.
