What do you think of this morning’s photo post? I think it’s great: the lighting, the beautiful young man, and the vibrant colors of the sand, the sea, and the young man’s clothing. No, guys: he’s not getting ready for his boyfriend to pork his rump. He’s stretching his back before hitting the water, something I was busy doing this morning, about 7:30 AM.
Alas, after a fine surfing session yesterday afternoon, we woke to mushy waves and a high tide — lousy conditions for surfing. After a half-hour on the water and one ride apiece, we gave up and returned to our room. After showering, we packed and returned to the Gulf Coast. It’s always good to be home. We’ve already returned our boards to their racks and hung up our wetsuits and rash guards on the clothesline. The dirty laundry’s in the clothes dryer and a steak is thawing in the kitchen. We’re so domestic.
It’s nice here, on the island. There’s a minimal breeze and the temperature’s around 85 degrees F. In a little while, we’ll walk down to the beach with our rafts and have ourselves a float-about in the Gulf. Sunset’s around 6:45 PM these days, and we won’t miss tonight’s. October sunsets are the best. Afterward, that steak I mentioned will hit the charcoal grille.
I know I’m posting late today, but there was no time before we went surfing, and no time before we checked out from the hotel, so I hope this late posting finds you in good spirits, and perhaps in a beautiful place. Enjoy your Thursday evening, everyone.
