If you follow this blog, you know I love photos of handsome young men wearing boardshorts, and nothing else. (Okay, flip-flops are acceptable accessories, but that’s it.) So, when I came across tonight’s photo post, I knew I had to put it up. Do you like it, readers? Would you like to travel south, down his “happy trail”? I know I would. (Martin, you dog ….)
I received an interesting comment from a gay surfer this afternoon. His name is Blake, he’s seventeen, lives in Cali. He said the following:
“I’ve followed your blog for two years now, right after I accepted the fact I was gay and I wondered if there were any other gay surfers out there. Your blog really helped me feel better about myself. It made me realize I wasn’t alone. I won’t tell you my home break, because someone I surf with there might see this and realize it was me. Let’s just say I surf in Orange County. Is that close enough?
“The coolest thing happened about three weeks ago and I wanted to tell you about it. I met another surfer at the Gay Straight Alliance at my high school, and we went surfing together for the first time and it was amazing, getting out there on the ocean with another dude like me. Since then, we’ve been spending time together, getting to know each other and all. No, we haven’t had sex, but I think it’s possible we will become boyfriends pretty soon. Then we’ll see about the sex.
“I just want to say thanks for your blog and all the posts about gay surfers, skaters and all. Peace-peace-peace.”
Peace to you, Blake.
Well that was a nice way to start my Friday evening. My boyfriend’s at work, so I’m here by myself. I’ll make a simple dinner, maybe watch a movie or read a book. I worked out and swam at the YMCA this afternoon and my muscles are aching from our surfing trip and then lifting weights today. (Man up, Martin!)
Have a great Friday night, everyone.
