Have a look at this evening’s photo post. I think it’s fitting I share such an amazing photo on New Year’s Eve. There’s something about the young man and the way he’s posed. It’s erotic as can be.
I’ve had a good day. I spent three hours driving through nerve-jangling traffic to visit a loved one in a rehab center. Afterward, I rode my bike for 15 miles in the sunshine. It felt great, cruising along at 12 miles per hour. Now, I’m home and I’ve watered the potted flowers and plants on our patios. I’m about to jump into the shower and get myself dressed for the evening’s festivities.
By midnight, I’ll be well-fed and well-oiled. I’ve promised myself I will last until midnight, so I can see the fireworks my neighbors are launching. I’ll stick to beer and wine tonight, which should help. No liquor or champagne for Martin tonight. Un-uh.
I can’t say 2011 has been the best year for me, for a variety of reasons. But I have many blessings to count, in spite of the year’s difficulties. It’s important, I think, to sit down and think about the many good things we have to enjoy in our lives.
Okay, everyone: be safe out there. If you’re drinking tonight, or ingesting drugs of one type or another, take taxis. You don’t need a DUI or, worse, a car wreck. I’ll post again, in 2012.
