Happy New Year, from Martin …

Hi, friends and readers:

It’s New Year’s Eve, and tonight my neighbors will gather for food, drink, and a boatload of fireworks we’ll shoot into the sky over the Intracoastal Waterway, just steps from my house.

I’ve been saving today’s photo post for many months, waiting for the right occasion to share it with you. Even though it’s out of balance and the lighting’s poor, I think it’s a wonderful photo. I like the way the folks in the ballpark are completely oblivious to the two young men who are smooching in the great outdoors, while fireworks explode.

Today, I’m traveling 70 miles to visit a loved one in a rehab facility. It’s a treacherous drive in I-4, the road between Tampa and Orlando. I’m not looking forward to it, but one must do these things, right?

Have a nice Saturday, everyone. I’ll post again, later in the day.
