Nice little Zac Efron video; Martin’s home from his nature adventure …

Hi, friends and readers:

I don’t know much about Zac Efron. I saw his film, Hairspray, but that’s about it. He certainly is a handsome guy, and from what I’ve read, he’s also a very pleasant person to meet. Does he have a boyfriend? Anybody know?

My boyfriend and I have just returned from our latest outdoor adventure — a two-night stay in Myakka River State Park, in Sarasota County, FL. In spite of the fact I have lived most all my life only an hour’s drive from there, I had never visited the park. It’s a beautiful place, with terrain typical of central Florida: rivers, streams, lakes, marshes, palmetto and pine forests, and hard wood hammocks. We took our bikes and rode all through the park. We saw an armadillo, a wild turkey, several alligators, and a deer.

The weather during our stay was stellar. We rented a cabin built by the CCC during the 1930s, a very nice place with a full kitchen, double beds, ceiling fans, and a fireplace. We had a picnic table, charcoal grille and fire pit out back. The place was so quiet and peaceful. I feel mentally and physically refreshed from spending so much time outdoors and in the wild. The park even has a canopy, suspension bridge in the tree tops. If you ever get a chance to visit there, do so. You won’t be disappointed.

Have a nice Thursday night, everyone.
