Does everyone like this evening’s video post. He’s pretty cute, and I think the clip’s funny. I love the irreverence of guys his age. Was I a smartass, when I was his age? Probably. The cops in the small island I dwelt on when I was in high school did not like me or my friends who hung out at my house. We were considered “troublemakers”, thought none of us were ever arrested. We just liked having fun.
It’s been a quiet day for me: writing, hanging with my boyfriend ’til he left for work. I got a haircut (badly needed). I stocked the fridge and cupboard with provisions. I took a two-mile walk on the beach, too. Conditions weren’t two nice: windy, humid and overcast. But I still enjoyed the walk.
“I came across your faggot website yesterday. I read your posts about gay BMXers. Let me tell you something, if there are any gay BMXers at my track, they’d better keep it to theirselves [sic] ’cause they’d get their queer asses kicked if they tried something with me or the other riders. Fags should dance in a ballay [sic] or play a vyolin [sic]. A BMX track is no place for them. By the way, your website sux [sic].”
As the politicians say, I won’t dignify that comment with a response. But I wanted to share it with my readers, just to let you know homophobia is alive and well, at least among certain illiterate, Tucson, AZ, BMXers. Aye-yi-yi, who raises these kids, anyway?
I’m spending my evening alone. I’ll cook a simple dinner, maybe read a while, and hit the sack early. I’m still recovering from rising at five AM Sunday to surf on the East Coast. It’s okay, the trip was worth it. Have a nice Tuesday night, everyone.
