I’ve always liked Venetian blinds. They’re especially needed in Florida, where the sun burns hot and bright, and we’re trying to stay cool.
The young man in the first photo is clearly trying to stay cool, by wearing absolutely nothing. What a great idea. How come he doesn’t live next door to me? I’d bring him a glass of iced tea if he did. He could invite me inside, and there’s no telling what might happen next. (Okay, Martin: enough fantasizing ….)
It’s another pretty fall day, here on the island. My three-mile walk on the beach this morning was peaceful. Dozens of brown and gray pelicans dined on pods of bait fish swimming near the shore, and the Gulf was calm. My morning dip was so refreshing, but I had to wade a good distance out, as the tide was extremely low again today. I came home and took an outdoor shower, and afterward I felt great. I love this time of year.
I’ve just finished my morning writing. This afternoon, I’ll visit the YMCA for a workout and lap-swimming. Then I’ll have errands to run before I return home. It’s going to be a nice weekend, I know. My wine rack is stocked and so is my fridge. I’m all set.
Have a nice Friday, everyone.
