About ten blocks down the road from my house, there’s an outdoor basketball court, a nice one maintained by the city. Once in a while, when I cruise past the court, a group of college-age guys will be playing a pickup game. Invariably, some have shed their shirts, and they’ll sweat from their exertions. They’re always an interesting sight to behold.
I’m posting photos of two such guys, for your viewing pleasure. Don’t they look great in their basketball shorts?
rose at 7:30 this morning, to take my three-mile walk on the beach. The sun had just crested the eastern horizon when I left, and the sky boiled in colors of gold, pink and green. The temperature was a bit cool–I wore a sweatshirt–but I was quite comfortable in shorts and bare feet. I passed several tourist couples who seemed to enjoy themselves and the fine weather.
I’ve just finished my writing for the day; I put in a good two hours at the keyboard, creating a new scene in my work-in-progress, a novel now 65,000 words in length. I started this book back around June 2012, and I like the characters very much. How it will end, I’m not sure, but that’s fiction-writing for you.
After lunch, I’ll visit the YMCA for a workout and lap-swimming. Then I have another golf lesson, at four PM, with my golf guru, Jeff. God knows, after my dismal performance on the course on Saturday, I need some guidance. Why is golf so hard for me to learn? Will I ever master the sport? I’m not a person easily discouraged, but golf is proving a tough nut to crack, for me.
Okay, I have things to do before I leave for the YMCA, so I’ll wish everyone a wonderful Monday, wherever you may be.
