Maybe it’s cold where you are, but here in west central Florida, it’s already beach season. In about two weeks, our first Spring Breakers will arrive, and the beaches will teem with handsome young men wearing boardshorts and little else.
I can’t wait.
I mean, have a look at the young man to the left. He reminds me of a Brazilian exchange student from Sao Paulo, who once lived with me for about six weeks. He used to parade around the house in bikini briefs every morning, which always made for interesting breakfast sights.
Aye-yi-yi. I wonder where Cladis is today, and what he’s up to? Do you think he remembers me? Who knows?
I rose before the sun did this morning, to walk three miles on the beach. A heavy fog obscured the sun for most of my walk, and a brisk little breeze blew out of the south, so I can’t say my walk was terribly pleasant, but that’s okay.
Now, have a look at the young man to the left. Would you like to rub sunscreen on his shoulders for him? Of course you would.
In just a few minutes, I’ll commence packing my travel bag. Then I’ll load up the Element with my belongings: suitcase, golf clubs, guitar, laptop computer, and so forth. I’ll visit the YMCA for my usual workout and lap-swimming. Then I’ll travel three hours northward, to Gainesville, to spend a long weekend with my beautiful boyfriend. I have not seen him in almost two weeks, and I can’t wait to give him a smooch.
Wherever you are, I hope your Wednesday is going well. And if you can, plan a spring trip to Florida’s Gulf Coast this year. You won’t be sorry you did.
