Yesterday, I received a comment from a young surfer named Jeff; he lives in La Jolla, CA, a very beautiful coastal town near San Diego, where I have visited. Jeff said this:
“I just came across your website about two weeks ago, and I’ve spent a lot of time looking over comments you’ve gotten from gay surfers in California and elsewhere. I find them very interesting, as I am gay and also a dedicated surfer since I was nine years old. I am now fifteen.
“I haven’t had a boyfriend yet, but I know I’m not attracted to girls, just guys, and I am hoping to meet another gay surfer my age, who I can surf with and get close to physically. I have several friends who surf, but I don’t think any are gay, and I’m not sure how I’ll meet someone, maybe through chat rooms? Anyway, I really appreciate the time you take to listen to gay surfers and sometimes give them advice. After reading the posts on your site, I don’t feel so alone.”
Thanks for writing me, Jeff. I hope you don’t mind it if I post your comment here. I have no doubt you’ll meet another gay surfer if you are persistent. You may want to check out the gay surfers’ website listed in my blogroll. The guys there are pretty cool, and some are from your area.
I had a great round of golf with my boyfriend this morning, at a beautiful private club only about six miles form our home. We started early–7:30 AM–and it turned out great because the day was so beautiful. Okay my putting was dreadful today, but my driving and fairway play was pretty good. We finished our round right around noon, so we headed for a great little Greek market and restaurant to eat lunch. Their food’s the best Greek in town.
Tonight, we’ll watch the NCAA basketball championship game on TV. It doesn’t start until 9:20 PM, so we may visit out timeshare down the street to soak in the hot tub before the game. Doesn’t that sound nice?
Okay, everyone. I know most of you had to go to work or school today, while I’m leading the lazy man’s life in Florida. But try to have a good Monday, wherever you are.
