I can truthfully say August is my least favorite month in Florida. The heat and humidity are insufferable; I don’t even want to go outside until after sunset. Golf and walking the beach are out of the question. I just stay inside wiht the air conditioning and dream of cool, fall weather, but that’s just me.
We have a lot of tourists here in August, mostly families with kids on summer break, and some college kids, too. The heat doesn’t seem to bother them when they stroll the sidewalks or walk the shore on our little island. And one way they stay cool is eating ice cream.
I don’t know about you, but watching a good-looking young man in a swimsuit eat ice cream can be a rather sensual experience. I guess it’s a combination of all that exposed skin and the workings of his tongue and lips. So, I’m offering two photos I am sure you’ll like as much as I do. Cookies and cream, anyone?
The dinner gathering we attended last night was a treat, but I ingested various … intoxicants that left me rather ragged this morning. When will I learn?Still, I had a wonderful time, sitting on a balcony overlooking the Gulf, drinking mango martinis while watching sunset.
I rose far too late this morning, which meant I missed my morning walk because the temperature outside by nine AM was already close to ninety degrees F. I’ll work on a writing project this morning. Then, after lunch, my boyfriend and I will visit the YMCA for a workout and lap-swimming. I’m not sure what’s in store for this evening, but after last night, I think I’ll take it easy on recreational substances. I have a ton of projects going in the writing department, and I need to be “Productive Martin” for several days.
Have a nice Monday, friends, wherever you might be.
