I love living on Florida’s Gulf Coast; I’m a native and I wouldn’t live anywhere else. But August is always miserably hot, and especially this August. Certain meteorological conditions are creating sweltering weather conditions for our area. Today, the temperature will climb into the mid-90’s, the humidity as well. You break into a sweat the moment you walk out your front door.
What I’d give for a little cool weather, or even a little snow storm. I might even run around outside with my shirt off, though I wouldn’t look nearly as appealing as the young man in the top photo I posted here this morning. It’s a beautiful photo, isn’t it? I love the light and shadows, and the way the young man’s posed. He’s clearly deep in thought, but what’s he thinking about?
I did manage to take my three-mile walk on the beach this morning, before the temperature got too warm. The Gulf was calm, the beach nearly deserted. Okay, I broke a sweat while walking, but I cooled off in the Gulf afterward, and after my outdoor shower on our patio, I felt great. Now, it’s almost noon, and I ave finished working on my latest project, a full-length novel taking place on the island where I live. This book is long, and I’m doing revising the entire manuscript, which has existed for about three years, and still needs substantial work before it’s ready for market.
My boyfriend’s working today, so I’m pretty much on my own. It’s okay, I have plenty to do in the writing department, so I’ll stay busy. Have a nice Tuesday, friends, wherever you are. Stay cool.
