It’s “beauty in black and white” Thursday; another busy day for Martin ….

black and white beauty #14Hi, friends and readers:

I’m always coming across black and white photography I really like, so I’ve decided to devote one day per week on this site to strictly black and white photos. Does anyone object? Does everyone agree the photos I have posted here this morning are beyond special?

My boyfriend just left the house for work. I took my walk on the beach pretty early this morning, around 7:45 AM, and I’ve already had my breakfast. I took care of correspondence, the in a load of laundry, took a glance at the paper.

The rest of the day I’ll devote to preparation for our trip to San Francisco. We fly out tomorrow morning, quite early, so all the packing and other stuff has to be done today. We’ll stay in the SF Bay Area a total of nine days, which is plenty of time to explore the city and its surroundings.

black and white beauty #11My first visit to San Francisco was in 1971. I was a college student, and during Christmas break I hitchhiked from Florida to California and back, in the space of two weeks. The trip was one of the most memorable travel experiences of my life; I met all kinds of interesting people who took me into their cars and homes, and who even bought me meals as I traversed the United States. Many nights, I slept outdoors in my sleeping bag. Each day was an adventure.

Anyway, I digress ….

I’ll have my laptop with me in California, and I will post from time-to-time during our trip. We will spend time in Napa Valley and Yosemite Park, as well as on the streets of San Francisco. I know the city pretty well, and my boyfriend’s brother lives close to Market Street, so we’ll know where to go and what to do. It’s going to be a wonderful nine days. I just wish I could take all of you with us 🙂

Have a nice Thursday, everyone.

  1. I’ve never been to the US, but some of the things i’ve seen/heard from San Francisco, is they say it’s “the Gay city/capitol”, have a lot of tram’s going up/down the streets, and you should “wear some flowers in your hair” 🙂
Would like to go to SF too, Boston comes also in mind, I’m a sucker for old buildings, Hope you have/had a good time there, and meet nice people (?)
