I’m reporting from San Francisco, where we spent a wonderful day outdoors, mostly in Marin County. We hiked among the redwoods and eucalyptus trees, enjoying vistas of the bay and the city. The air smelled so fresh and clean. The sun shone and the temperature was in the mid-70’s, perfect in my book. We spent a couple of hours at a beer garden on the side of a mountain, playing a board game and drinking authentic German beer from the tap. How come we can’t make beer that tasty in the U.S.?
People in SF are much more fashion conscious than folks in Florida, and one sees all sorrsts of interesting clothing and hair styles. People aren’t afraid to be a little different when they’re on the streets, and I like that. Conformity is definitely not the watchword in SF.
Last night, we dined on some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. the place was packed but we were seated fairly quickly, and our server choose the dishes we dined on. He certainly knew what he was doing. Afterward, we hit a few bars for drinks. Night life is a big deal in SF and it’s not cheap, but what the heck. I also visited the City Lights Bookstore to buy books by Ry Cooder and Charles Bukowski. I’m in heaven. The young men in SF are quite beautiful. It’s hard not to stare, especially at the tall and lanky Chinese guys with their beautiful skin and hair.
Okay, breakfast is over and I plan to hit the streets for doing some exploring, so I will wish everyone a wonderful Sunday.
