Did you guys think I’d forgotten you today? Nah, but I wanted to spend time with my boyfriend this morning, before he left for a long workday. After he left, I worked on a writing project until lunchtime. After lunch, I did my three-mile walk on the beach. Although our morning was sunny, a thick fog rolled over our island, just as I walked out the door. I had to go back inside to put on a hoodie so I’d stay warm while I walked the shore.
After my walk, I considered hitting the driving range for a bit more practice on my swing, but then the sun came out and I decided to stay here on the island. I spent two hours working in my yard: raking leaves, trimming shrubs and vines, and generally cleaning things up. Now the place looks great, and I feel good myself.
Do you like the black-and-white photos I’ve posted here tonight as much as I do? I don’t know which guy I like better. Both have unique expressions on their faces, as though they are thinking something indecipherable. And that’s good photography, in my book. I like pictures that ask more questions than they answer.
I’m fresh out of the shower, ready for a relaxing evening at home. A friend will share a bottle of red wine with me in about an hour. Then I’ll toss two marinated pork chops on the grill. I’ll team them with a baked sweet potato and a fruit salad. That sounds good, now doesn’t it? I have a bit of work to do later on, so I won’t be lacking in things to do. Outside, the sun is setting and the temperature is dropping, but I doubt the thermometer will drop lower than 60 degrees F, perfect sleeping weather.
Have a nice Sunday night, friends.
