Americans tend to be modest about their bodies in a way Europeans can’t understand. I’m not sure why we are this way. But there’s something to be said for getting naked when you’re enjoying the outdoors, especially in beautiful places like the seashore or the mountains. I used to have a fishing camp in a remote, coastal place where we had complete privacy. I’d take friends up there all the time, and some guys used to get naked the moment we got there. It’s a special kind of feeling I think is capture in both photos I’ve posted here this morning.
It’s only about 8:30 AM, and I am already back from my three-mile, morning beach walk. (No, I didn’t do it in my birthday suit. The Sheriff wouldn’t understand, I’m afraid.) Today, truly, has to be one of the prettiest days of 2013. The temperature’s in the high 60’s, the sun is shining, the air is still and the Gulf is calm. On my beach walk, I saw an entire pod of juvenile bottle-nosed dolphins frolicking in the Gulf, about eight of them. They were jumping into the air, doing back-flips and so forth. It was amazing to see.
In a couple of hours, my boyfriend and I will visit a beautiful golf course about a half-hour’s drive from here, where we’ll play a round in this beautiful weather. Okay, I am not a very good golfer. On a good day, I can break 100, but that’s okay. It’s a great way to spend the day with my boyfriend, enjoying the beauty of late fall in central Florida.
Wherever you are today, I hope you’re having a good Tuesday.
