I like photos of guys who are sleeping. I’m not sure why, but I think it has something to do with vulnerability. Boys are raised to hide their feelings, to always be on the alert for a threat to their masculinity. But when a young man’s sleeping his defenses are down and he looks so … unguarded. I especially like the two photos I’ve posted here this morning. Wouldn’t you like to find either of these two guys in your bedroom this morning?
I rose at seven AM this morning.Right away, I headed for the beach to take my three-mile walk, followed by a dip in the Gulf of Mexico. This is my summer regimen, one that allows me to spend time outdoors before the temperature gets too hot. The Gulf is still surprisingly cool right now; I kind of shivered when I slipped into the water after my walk. But it felt good nonetheless. I returned home feeling relaxed and invigorated. After a quick breakfast, I worked on my new novel, and now it’s time to tend to correspondence.
Since it’s Wednesday, I plan to visit the YMCA after lunch, for a workout and lap-swimming. Then I’ll visit the golf course to hit a bucket of balls. Intense day, eh?
I know, I’m the luckiest guy in the world, and there’s not a day that goes by when I don’t remind myself of that fact. Have a great Wednesday, friends, wherever you are today.
