It’s two AM on Saturday, July 12th, and I am back on my little island in Florida, after spending ten days in British Columbia. I’m pretty exhausted, since I rose at 6:30 AM Friday in Vancouver, and I spent the whole day either flying or hanging around airports. But you know how it is after a long flight: the last thing you want to do is go to bed. I thought I’d post a couple of photos of guys in their boardshorts. And, by the way, I didn’t see a single guy in boardshorts in British Columbia; I guess it’s a Florida thing.
I’ll post at length about my vacation experience, but right now I just want to assure all of you that I made it back safe and sound, and I had one of the best trips I have taken in a long time. (Okay, my surfing trip to Panama in February was pretty amazing, but BC was so different from anyplace I’d ever been.)
When I arrived home my boyfriend was fast asleep. He had to work tonight and I’m sure he was tired. Like I said, I’m a bit wired from my day-long travels so I’ll down a beer or two before hitting the sack and snuggling with Mr. Sexy.
Once again, my trip to BC has convinced me that travel to new and distant places is one of the best things a person can do for himself. I did new things, met new people so different from those in Florida, and I reminded myself I am perfectly capable of skippering a good-sized boat or hiking a challenging trail. In short, I rejuvenated myself.
Still, it’s good to be home. Everything here looks fine, and I am reminded that my boyfriend and I live in one of the most beautiful places in the State of Florida. There’s much to do tomorrow. Monday, we’ll leave on a ten-day visit to northern Wisconsin, so I must do laundry and go through the mail.
All right, everyone. I’m going to wish you all a pleasant Saturday morning. Tomorrow I’ll post more about my BC experience. Let me hear from you guys; I’ve missed you terribly.
