Most photos I post here feature guys engaged in joyful activities, be they sports, enjoying the beach, or showing affection to each other. But sometimes good photography focuses on young men who are not having a good day, and that’s all right. No one is happy 365 days a year; we all have our down days, so why not take time to look at photos that evoke somber feelings for a moment?
I like all three photos I have posted here very much, and I hope you’ll enjoy them as well.
Speaking of somber, I woke in the middle of the night last night to the sound of rain pounding the roof over our heads. There is a massive weather system, out in the Gulf of Mexico, that is dumping lots of moisture onto central Florida today, all day. It’s okay, we need the water.
I did manage to get in my three-mile beach walk this morning. The Gulf was churning and the tide was super high. The wind blew and I was sprinkled with rain as I strode along, but I didn’t mind. I only saw two other people during my walk, and I suppose most people would think it crazy to walk the shore in such weather, but I was okay with it. I felt a sense of peace.
I’ve finished working on my novel-in-progress for the day; I got a lot done, and the story’s moving along nicely. I’m having to do a bit of studying on astrology, something I know little about. I found out that your “Ascendant” or “Rising Sign” from the twelve signs of the zodiac is not determined just by your birthday. Other factors, such as your place of birth, your time of birth and the year of your birth also determine your “sign.” It’s intricate stuff, but I don’t mind educating myself a litle on the subject.
My boyfriend’s off at school all day today, so I am on my own. It’s okay, I have much to do. In a little while, I will fix myself lunch. Then I’ll drive into town to visit the YMCA for a workout and lap-swimming, always a satisfying way to spend a couple of hours. I have a few errands to run afterward, and then I’ll come home to fix dinner for myself and my boyfriend. I’m preparing one of my favorite pasta dishes tonight, and we have a nice bottle of Chianti to go with it. Yum-m-m-m ….
Have a great Wednesday, everybody.
