I’m posting today from Boone, NC, home of Appalachian State University, a place I have never before visited. It’s beautiful here in the mountains. The air is fresh and invigorating, the temperature cool but not cold, and today the sun is shining. Our hosts lives in a wooded area, and I feel like I am living in a tree house. Yesterday we visited the Appalachian State campus, where the male students are pretty darned attractive. They’re the wholesome, outdoors-loving types, many with stubble on their cheeks, wearing beanies and hiking boots. I must admit, my tongue was hanging out as we walked around downtown Boone, just checking out all the hots guys. Te campus is very pretty, and most of the buildings are contemporary. People are quite friendly here.
Last night we built a bonfire in the yard. We stood around it sipping from beer bottles or glasses of wine. I fired up the charcoal grille, and then I barbequed pork chops. We had a nice meal with fresh corn on the cob and a garden salad, followed by more wine and beer.
Right now my friends are taking a short hike, but soon we’ll pile into our rental car and we’ll visit the Blue Ridge Parkway to see the sights in the mountains. I’m not sure what else we’ll do but we’ll stay busy.
Have a great Tuesday, friends, wherever you might be.
