Hot boys and their cameras; it’s Martin’s birthday ….

camera #10Hi, friends and readers:

Selfies are never too elegant, so I only post them on occasion, if the young man involved is someone I ind especially attractive. Now, I don’t know about you, but I think the guy to the right borders on perfection. I know, he’s a bit on the skinny side and his hair is a mess, but I find those qualities … charming. If I sat next to him in a classroom, I’d probably never hear the lecture. I’d spend my time trying to rub my knee against his. What a babe ….

Well, it’s my birthday today. I won’t say how old I am, but let’s just say I’ve been around a good long while, and that’s okay. When I was twenty-five, I thought I’d never reach the age of thirty, due to the amount of drugs and alcohol I consumed. But I settled down, and I learned to take care of myself with exercise and a healthy diet. I gave up the drugs and limited my alcohol intake (kind of), and now I have outlived many of my high school/college buds.

camera #7Looking back on my life, I can truthfully say I have few regrets. I’ve enjoyed two long term relationships, one which is still continuing, and aren’t I lucky for that? I have traveled the world. I have friends in many different countries. I have excellent health. I was a successful trial lawyer, retired a the age of forty-nine, and then became a successful fiction writer. I live in one of the most beautiful places in the state of Florida. I have wonderful friends and neighbors. And every day I do whatever the hell I feel like doing.

In a few hours I will drive my beautiful boyfriend to the airport. He’ll fly to San Francisco to attend his oldest brother’s wedding. But we had a wonderful birthday celebration last night. He bought m a new pair of boardshorts for our surfing excursions. (My old ones are a bit threadbare and non too stylish.) And then he took me to my favorite seafood restaurant for a nice meal and a bottle of wine. Who could ask for more?

All right, friends, I have much to do before out trip to the airport, so I will wish everyone a joyful Thursday. Keep smiling; it’s a wonderful world we live in. 🙂
