It’s January third, and most people around the world would not dream of visiting the beach, but here on West central Florida today is a perfect beach day: sunny, about 78 degrees, and still. Our beach was mobbed today when I did my three-mile walk on the shore. Sexy guys in boardshorts abounded, and Martin certainly enjoyed the sights. 😉
If you are wondering why I didn’t post the past two days, the answer is simple. I was too busy. Thursday, we left the house at 9:30 AM, to make the drive to Tampa. We set up our tailgating site just down the street from Raymond James Stadium, and then we proceeded to pah-tay. The game started at noon; it was great, a real nail-biter that Wisconsin won by a field goal in overtime. By the time we got home, it was already past sunset. We ordered a pizza and then we watched the NCAA playoff games until it was time for bed.
Yesterday morning, I drove my boyfriend to Tampa International for his flight to visit his folks in Minnesota. (B-r-r-r-r ….) I came home and cleaned up the house from Thursday’s chaos. Then I took a 12-mile bike ride, here on the island, to get my blood pumping and to clear my head from all the partying we did the day before. I had a friend over for dinner last night. We shared a bottle of wine up our my new observation deck, and then we dined on leftover seafood lasagna, a very tasty meal.
Now it’s late morning, and I’m here all alone. (Boo-hoo.) It’s okay, I have work to do in the writing department and in the yard, where weeds are springing up everywhere. I need to visit the supermarket to replenish the fridge, and I have a Netflix movie to watch tonight, so I’ll stay busy all day long.
The weather today is so beautiful that I may return to the beach for another walk and (a-hem) sight-seeing at some point. 😉 Have a nice Saturday, everyone.
