Check out the guy to the left. Do you find yourself asking, “How did his mother let him leave the house like that?” Aye-yi-yi, well I guess some young men like showing off their stuff during athletic events, and I guess I don’t mind if they do.
I woke quite early this morning, around 7:15, and right away I went to the beach to take my usual three-mile walk along the shore. Because the temperature was cool, I wore a sweatshirt, track pants, and shoes, instead of my usual t-shirt and shorts, but I didn’t mind. Very few people were about, and the Gulf was calm. It was a good time to think about my past, and also what my future holds.
Now it’s almost 11:30 AM and the sky remains overcast, the air damp and cool. But at least the wind isn’t blowing. With any luck I’ll be able to take a long bike ride after lunch.
Aside from cycling, I don’t have much planned for the day. My boyfriend’s coming home for lunch, and then he has to leave for his part-time job around two PM, so he won’t join me on my bike ride. I’ll be dining alone tonight, but maybe I’ll invite a friend to come over for a glass of wine before I eat.
I’m hard at work on my novel-in-progress, so I’ll likely spend late afternoon doing edits on material I have already written. Some writers detest the editing process, but not me. Good editing takes a so-so manuscript and turns it into something special.
Okay, everyone, I must get busy, so I will wish everyone a very pleasant Thursday, wherever you might be.
