I never played soccer as a kid. Hell, no one did back then. But I did learn to play while I was in college, and I think it’s a great sport. It’s one where smaller guys can participate and excel; you don’t have to be big like you do in football and basketball.
Anyway, I thought I’d share a pair of my favorite soccer player photos with you this evening. I lived in Berlin during the summer of 2006 when the World Cup matches were played all over Germany, and it was an exciting time. I used to visit beer gardens with my friends to watch matches on big-screen TVs and it was always fun.
It’s been a good day for me. I got a lot done in the writing department, and then I had a good workout and lap-swimming session at the YMCA. I hit the supermarket on the way home to pick up stuff for tonight’s dinner: meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and green peas, a classic cold weather meal. Outside it’s windy and chilly. No observation deck for Martin this evening; it’s just too cold.
I’ll cook dinner, work on editing what I wrote this morning, and spend a little quality time with my handsome boyfriend, who’s a pretty good soccer player himself. We might even build a blaze in our patio fire pit if conditions allow.
Okay, friends, I much to do and little time to do them, so I will close this post by wishing everyone a relaxing Wednesday night. Stay warm, and if you have a boyfriend, spend a little time snuggling. If you don’t have a boyfriend, the get busy. 😉
