Boys in Speedos; Martin’s back from his fishing trip ….

speedo blue #4Hi, friends and readers:

I keep saying I must attend a swim meet sometime because it’s the only place you’ll ever see guys in Speedos in the U.S. As we all know, American men are not confident enough with their masculinity to wear such a skimpy garment to the beach or public pool, and it’s to bad, really. Don’t you think the guys in today’s photo posts look great in their suits?

Well, I am back from my fishing trip to a remote island on the Gulf coast where I spent four nights and days fishing, drinking, eating, and spending time with seven friends who I have known nearly all my life. We had the best time, and when I went  fishing with our host on Thursday (It was just the two of us that day.) my friend caught a 25-pound snook. The fish was too big to keep, so we took a few pictures of it, and then returned it to the water. Snook are a Florida game fish, and they are also Florida best-eating fish. Their meat is like steak. Anyway, my friend’s fish is still swimming.

Speedo at poolI collected several bug bites up on the river; I don’t exactly know how, but that part of being outdoors in central Florida at this time of year. It’s okay, I’ll be scratching for a few days, and then the bumps will go away.

The drive hoe this afternoon was a bit harrowing, as I was feeling a little queasy from all the partying we did, and also because the traffic was so thick in Tampa. I was so glad to get home to my boyfriend and our lovely home, here on the island. Right now my boyfriend is studying for his classes tomorrow, and in just a little while I will prepare fresh fish from the river for our evening meal. The fillets are a mixture of flounder, mangrove snapper, and speckled sea trout. It’ll be a nice way for me to share my trip with my boyfriend.

He spent the weekend with friends in Ft. Lauderdale, where he attended a two-day country-western music festival. Since I’m not really into C & W, it was better that he went with his friends instead of me. Anyway, it’s nice to be home, and I’m looking forward to spending the evening with him.

Have a nice Monday evening, everyone.
