I have played acoustic guitar since I was in college, (That was a while back.) and right now I own an Ovation Legend that I love. It has beautiful tone and a neck that’s similar to an electric guitar’s, so the action’s quick. Every few days I’ll take it out of its case and play for an hour or so. I also sing fairly well, so I’ll serenade myself, or sometimes other folks. A guitar is a great instrument because it’s portable.
Now, I’m not sure if I ever looked as good with my guitar as these two boys look with theirs, but that’s okay.
It’s a beautiful day, here on the island. The sun is shining, the air temperature is warm but not hot, and there is only the slightest breeze blowing. But I didn’t take my usual walk on the beach. I had things to do.
My boyfriend and I hosted a family gathering today, a memorial event to honor a loved one who recently passed away. I gave a brief eulogy and then I scattered her ashes in the Gulf of Mexico. Then we enjoyed a nice buffet lunch at our house. It was a wonderful way to honor the deceased’s memory, and I know every enjoyed themselves.
I don’t have a lot planned for the rest of the day. I’m still getting over my cold, so I’m not full of energy. But there’s a street festival here on the island tonight, and my boyfriend and I plan to attend. There will be live music (Speaking of guitars.), food, beer and wine, and craft vendors.
Since the weather’s so nice today I suspect we’ll have a large crowd. And the best thing is, the festival is only five blocks from our house. We won’t have to drive to go there and enjoy ourselves. It’s one of the perk of living where we do. 🙂
Okay, I have some editing to do, so I’d est be getting on. Have a wonderful Saturday, friends, wherever you might be.
