If you follow this website then you know I like to sneak over to Florida’s east coast with my boyfriend, several times a year, to surf for a few days. We don’t have rideable waves on the Gulf coast, so we have to make the 160-mile journey and spring the cost of a hotel room for a couple of nights.
It’s worth it. Now, I am not a good surfer, but I do all right, and there’s nothing like the feeling of catching a wave and riding it toward shore. It’s almost like flying, I’m serious. Oh, and the sights you see out of the lineup are nothing less than stellar.
Surfing is principally the domain of young men, aged maybe fourteen to twenty-five. You’ll see some guys my age out there at times, but the young guys dominate the sport because it is so physically demanding. Two hours of riding waves and you’re whipped for the day. Anyway, you’ll see a lot of guys like the two in tonight’s photo posts. Aye-yi-yi ….
Well, after a rough start this morning, I had a good day. I did my morning physical therapy regimen around ten AM. Then I met with my home health nurse to have my surgery staples removed. After lunch the PT guy came to review exercises with me and suggest some new ones. He’s a super-nice guy. He says I’m recovering a lot quicker form my surgery than most people, since I was fit beforehand. That made me feel good.
My poor boyfriend is working tonight, after working eight hours at a law firm. He doesn’t wnat to pass up the money he can make form tonight’s special event, which I understand. He’ll probably get home around 11:30 tonight, when I’ll already be in dreamland. But at least we can snuggle a bit under the covers. I’m spending the evening alone, which is fine. I have a hockey game to watch, and then I’ll head for bed.
Have a nice Tuesday night, everyone.
