Sometimes it bugs me the way so many young men can’t seem to go anywhere without wearing a set of headphones or ear buds. Do their surroundings really bore them that much that they choose to tune out reality in favor of listening to whatever type of music they favor? But then I must confess I spend time listening to my “Beats” headphones most every day, usually when I’m up on our observation deck in the early evening.
I had another rough go of things this morning around two AM. I woke up with aching knees and thighs, the residue from my knee surgeries three weeks ago. I dragged my ass out of bed and into the bathroom, where I swallowed two pain pills and two Tylenols. Then I lay in bed 45 minutes waiting for the pain relief to kick in. I spent a good deal of time tossing and turning before I got back to sleep; it wasn’t fun. Hopefully this problem will lessen in the days ahead, and I’ll be able to sleep through the night like I usually do.
It’s been a quiet morning, here on the island. I, of course, am pretty much confined to the house while I heal from the surgery. After breakfast I performed my physical therapy exercises, read the newspaper, worked a couple of crossword puzzles. Now I’m enjoying lunch.
I need to water houseplants this afternoon, and I need to to another round of exercising as well. I think my boyfriend and I will go out for dinner someplace nice this evening. I need to get out of the freakin’ house and enjoy a change of atmosphere. Maybe we’ll hit once of our favorite seafood places.
Have a nice Monday, everyone.
