At least once a week I like to share some of my favorite black-and-white photos with you, and I thought I would do so today. The boy in the upper photo has an androgynous and timeless look to him, doesn’t he? I can almost see him wearing a toga, along with an olive wreath encircling his head. And check out those lips.
I’ve been sleeping in late this week, following my boyfriend’s surgery. I think the surgery stressed me out as much as it has my boyfriend. Last night I went to bed around 11:30, but I didn’t get up this morning until past ten AM. I cooked breakfast for my boyfriend, who can only eat soft foods right now. I did my usual physical therapy exercises, and now I’ve finished eating lunch. In a little while I will jump into my Honda Element and drive into the city to visit the YMCA for a workout and lap-swimming. Then I’ll head home to tend to my boyfriend’s needs.
Do you like the photo to the left as much as I do? The guy is beautiful, of course. Just check out those rippling abs. And I like his backward ball cap and disheveled hair. I wonder who he’s talking to? And when’s the last time you saw a guy his age using a a pay phone? It a great photo; it almost looks like a candid shot but it’s too perfect to be one.
We don’t have anything planned for the evening, or for the weekend for that matter. My boyfriend’s condition precludes a lot of activity, so we’ll probably watch movies on TV and maybe take a few evening walks on the beach. He can’t talk much right now; his throat’s too sore from the surgery. I don’t mind, a quite weekend’s not the end of the world.
All right, I need to change for the YMCA, so I will close this post by wishing all of you a wonderful weekend, wherever you are.
