A day of black-and-white beauty; typical Monday in store for Martin ….

black and white beauty #21Hi, friends and readers:

It’s Monday and that means the beginning of the work week for many of you, and the beginning of classes for those of you who are students. I thought I’d try to cheer you all up with some nice black-and-white photography this morning and again this evening. I find both photos I’ve posted here quite compelling. I especially like the top photo: the lighting, the way the model is posed, and the expression on his face. It’s almost as though someone has taken him by surprise when he was deep in thought and staring out that window. What was he thinking about? We’ll never know ….

I rose a 7:30 this morning, to take my three-mile morning beach walk. All of our summer tourists have gone home and the kids around here are back in school, so the beach was nearly deserted when I walked today. The Gulf was calm and the sun was partially obscured by clouds, which kept things cool.

black and white beauty #20After my walk, I took a dip in the Gulf, which has cooled down some due to heavy rains we experienced last night, remnants of the tropical storm in the Atlantic. After I returned home and showered, I made a few necessary phone calls, and then I got busy editing my novel-in-progress.

Now lunchtime is approaching and I have tree-trimming folks coming out here to fell a dead tree on my property before it falls onto my house. I’m not sure how long they will be here, but if it’s going to be very long I may have to skip the YMCA this afternoon. I don’t like skipping my workout and lap-swimming sessions, but I always like to be present when people work on my property.

I need to run a few errands this afternoon too: the bank, the wine market, and the supermarket. It’s all little stuff, but the errands need run, so I’ll take care of things, and then I’ll be home in time to greet my boyfriend when he comes home from school.

Have a nice Monday, everyone.
