If you follow this site then you know how much I adore good black-and-white photography. Unlike color photography, black-and-white forces you to focus on the photo’s content, and not just the pretty colors. It takes an really good photographer to make it work, but I think today’s photo posts are both excellent pieces, especially the one to the left. I love the way sunlight is reflecting in the model’s sweaty skin. Beautiful ….
So, I rose around eight AM to take my usual three-mile walk on the beach. Each day the walk becomes easier, now that I am pretty well recovered from my double knee replacement surgery back in May. The Gulf was calm and I enjoyed my quick dip in the water after my walk. This time of year very few people are about on the shore at that hour, so it’s almost like I have a private beach. October is always my favorite month of the year because conditions are so nice.
Okay, here’s the second piece. If I were the photographer I’d have asked the model to ditch the briefs, but that’s just me; It’s still a fine photograph. I love the lighting and the serious expression on the model’s face.
Today will be a busy day for me. I’ll have lunch a little earlier than normal so I can get to the YMCA early for my workout and lap-swimming. Then I have to drive my lovely boyfriend to the airport for his flight to Minneapolis. He’s attending the Green Bay Packers game this weekend with his family. I was invited, but decided to forego the trip. I’m just not that much of a football fan. After I drop my boyfriend off I need to bring my bicycle to a bike shop to have the flat tire repaired.
A neighbor is celebrating his birthday early this evening. The party’s down at our beach and I plan to attend. Then a good friend is coming out to my place and we’ll have dinner at a nearby restaurant. So, I’ll be running around a lot today. Have a great Friday, friends, wherever you might be today.
