You know, there are some guys who simply shouldn’t wear a shirt, not unless they’re going inside a church or a restaurant. I mean, why cover up all the smooth a muscled flesh. If either guy in today’s photo posts was my boyfriend, I’d declare shirts verboten for him whenever he was home.
Last night’s fish dinner was a huge success. It had been a good while since I’d friend fish, but our trout from the fish camp turned out perfect, with alight but crispy crust. Our German friends got a big kick out of eating our catch, a new experience for them. Okay, I drank a little too much wine, but …. 😉
I rose at eight this morning to take my usual three-mile walk on the shore. The sun was up and a light breeze blew, so I was quite comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt. I always walk barefooted unless it’s cold down there during winter.
While I was down there I encountered two species of birds that are really cool: roseate spoonbills and oystercrackers. Both are rarely seen on the beaches in our area, so I considered myself fortunate.
After breakfast I got busy working on my story-in-progress, which is now up to 13,000 words. I guess it will eventually become a short novel, which is fine. I’m really enjoying the story, which is loosely-based on events that occurred after my ninth grade year. It’s amazing to me how much detail I can recall from that summer: the people in my life, the house I lived in, and the community I wandered about in at a time when I was on foot.
Now it’s nearly lunchtime, and after I quick meal I will head into the city to visit the YMCA for a workout and lap-swimming. My boyfriend has a heavy workload this week, and our German friends left for the Florida Keys this morning, so I’ll be left to my own devices.
Have a great Monday, everyone, and ditch those shirts.
