I love the way black-and-white photos make you focus on the photo’s subject rather than its colors. And who wouldn’t want to focus his attention of the boy to the left here. He’s just beautiful, isn’t he? I wonder what his name is and where he lives?
I’m guessing he’s … Marcus from La Jolla, CA. He rides a skateboard, has a basketball hoop in his driveway, and he volunteers at a homeless shelter in San Diego one night a week. He’s never dated, but he really likes a guy who sits next to him in his honors English class, a guy who looks like the one in the lower photo I’ve posted here. Will something happen between them?
It’s another beautiful day, here on the island: sunny, cool, and still. I have my doors and windows open, and I can hear birds chirping in nearby trees. I got some good writing done this morning, and now I am done for the day. Since it’s Monday I would normally visit the YMCA after lunch, but I have promised an elderly neighbor I would drive her to a doctor’s appointment this afternoon, so the “Y” is out for today. It’s all right, you do these things for others sometimes because it’s a nice thing to do. When I get home I’ll take a brisk, three-mile walk, here on the island, for some exercise. And then I need to finish painting the shelves that fit into our new bookcase. It’s going to look really nice when it’s filled with books and maybe a framed photo or two.
My boyfriend’s at school all day, and he’ll have a lot off work to do this evening, so It’s going to be a tame night at our house. That’s okay, sometimes tame is good. Have a great Monday, everyone.
