If you follow this website then you know I live on a barrier island directly on the Gulf of Mexico. I can walk to the beach in one minute; the Gulf is that close. And at this time of year we are invaded by thousands of college boys enjoying their Spring Breaks. They walk the beach in their swim trunks. They get drunk or smoke weed. It’s all pretty harmless, actually, and I always enjoy walking the shore, just checking out all that lovely flesh. (Although I wish this trend of wearing straw fedora hats would go away. The boy to the left here would look a lot better if his hat was floating in the Gulf.)
I am again suffering from the “Midnight Disease” right now. I went to bed around eleven PM last night, but then I woke up at one AM, feeling like I’d slept eight hours. I don’t know why this happens, but it doesn’t do any good for me to lie in bed and stare at the ceiling. So I am up and I guess I will write for a while.
Outside it is raining pretty heavily. which is not a bad thing actually. We haven’t had much rain lately and the trees and shrubs could use the water. Plus it sounds kind of soothing, listening to the pitter-patter of rain on our metal roof.
I had a good day yesterday; I got a lot done. In the morning I wrote while the guy repaired the ice-maker in our fridge. After lunch I hit the supermarket to stock up for the weekend. I took a run, only about a mile. And then I did yard work for a couple of hours. After I showered I spent some time on our back porch, listening to my i-Pod and enjoying the beautiful weather before getting the charcoal grill going.
I always love this time of year in central Florida. It’s not hot and not cold; it’s just right. Have a nice Friday morning, friends.
