I love photos of two boys or men showing physical affection toward each other. See the boys to the left? When I was their age I would never have kissed another boy in public, and it’s kind of sad things had to be that way back then.
Yesterday I took a three-mile walk on the beach. It was a beautiful afternoon, and I came upon a beach wedding with about 75 participants. (They’re quite popular on our island these days.) Everyone in the wedding was cheering because the couple getting married had just tied the knot. Then I realized it was a lesbian wedding. But the people participating looked like people at any other wedding. There were teenagers and straight couples and grandmas and tykes. And I thought it’s amazing how times have changed.
I stayed up far too late last night. I was watching a film titled The Big Short, with Christian Bale and Brad Pitt and other well-known actors. The film was about the sub-prime mortgage disaster that happened around 2007, which then brought on the Great Recession that we are just now recovering from. You might not think that would be an interesting subject for a movie, but it was.
Anyway, by the time I got to bed it was 12:30 AM, and as a result I didn’t get up this morning until around nine. No walk on the beach for Martin. 🙁 Well, it’s okay. It’s a beautiful morning here. The sun is shining, the temperature is around 72 degrees F, and there’s no wind blowing; a perfect early April day in central FL.
Have a great Monday, everyone.
