Certain guys look very sexy when they wear eyeglasses, at least that’s what I think. Glasses add a certain intellectual cachet to a cute guy’s appearance, especially if he chooses a pair that flatter the shape of his face. Wouldn’t you like to give a smooch to Mr. Pouty Lips to the left here?
My connecting flight on my trip home from Southern California was delayed last night, so I didn’t arrive at the Tampa airport until one AM. 🙁 My poor boyfriend picked me up and whisked me home, where I dragged my bags out of the car, and then it wasn’t long before I hit the bed. I was tired, and I slept until almost eleven this morning.
My trip was a mixed mag, to be truthful. The lower Grand Canyon, just below the Hoover Dam, was spectacular. The first two days of our kayaking trip were great. Sunny weather and still. Unfortunately, I was not being vigilant when I was coasting down the river. I hit some rapids that capsized my kayak and put me in 55-degree (F) water for a half-hour, which put me on the verge of hypothermia.
Okay, my friends finally towed me and my kayak to shore, where I had to get out of my wet clothes and the wrap myself in a thermal blanket until I warmed back up, which took about 45 minutes. The whole thing was a little unsettling, but I didn’t have any more incidents after that.
Things began to deteriorate at the end of our second day on the river. We had two more days to go, but the weather turned nasty–windy and rainy–and it would not have been safe for us to continue, so we had to abort half-way and spend two nights in Laughlin, NV, where I played $5 blackjack in a casino for the first time in my life. It was fun, actually.
I spent Monday night in Vista, CA at my friend’s home, and then he drove me to the San Diego airport yesterday around noon. The whole thing lasted a full week, and while things didn’t go according to plan, I still enjoyed myself thoroughly. You have to be flexible when it comes to outdoor adventures, and I think we did pretty well.
Have a nice Wednesday, everyone.
