Hi, friends and readers: May is prime beach season in west central Florida because the Gulf of Mexico is warm enough for swimming but the heat and humidity associated with summer have not yet arrived. And because today is Sunday, the beach down the street from my house will be mobbed today. There won’t be a single parking space available, and traffic will be dreadful. That’s how it is when you live in a pretty little island like I do, so you live with it.
I was up at seven AM this morning. I took a very pleasant three-mile walk along the shore where I saw a bird called a “roseate spoonbill” digging in the sand for its breakfast. These beautiful birds nearly became extinct, back around 1900 because they were hunted for their bright pink feathers. But now they’re protected and they are making a strong comeback. How cool is that?
Anyway, I plan to take a second three-mile walk on the beach after lunch, so I can check out all the hot guys in their swim trunks who will be down there in force. Oh, how lovely they are with their smooth flesh an rippling muscles. Do you find the guys in today’s photo posts as sexy as I do? Would you pass up a date with either one? Of course you wouldn’t.
I have an easy day ahead of me, with very little planned, other than taking another walk, and then running 1-1/2 miles in the late afternoon. I have some correspondence to take care of and I’ll do some editing on my novel-in-progress. I plan to dine vegetarian again tonight; I really enjoyed last night’s meal, so why not do it again?
Oh, last night I watched a movie called A League of the Own, made in 1992 and starring Tom Hanks and Geena Davis. It’s about all-female pro baseball teams that played during WWII, and it’s a wonderful film that will make the most hardened viewers shed a few tears. I know I did. If you’ve never seen it I recommend you do. Here’s a link to the film’s IMDB listing:
Okay, everyone, I need to get busy so I will close by wishing you all a very happy Sunday, wherever you might be.
