I returned home yesterday afternoon after spending a week in Cuba. I don’t have the time right now to report on my Cuba adventure, but it was certainly an experience I’ll never forget. Unfortunately, I returned home with a bad case of gastronomical upset, as did one of my traveling companions, so I am not feeling 100% this morning. Oh well, that’s the price we pay for traveling to Third World countries. 🙁
This evening I will board a nonstop flight to Frankfurt, Germany, where a friend who was once a one-year exchange student who lived with me will pick me up from the airport. We will spend three nights in Frankfurt, and then we will travel to Berlin to spend the weekend there. On Monday I will take the train to Bremen to visit friends; they are taking me to a seaside cabin in Sweden for three nights, and then I spend three nights in Bremen with another former exchange student. Then I return to Frankfurt to spend one night before flying back to Florida.
The photo to the left here shows me and my Frankfurt friend, Jens, at my fishing camp. The photo was taken several years ago when he visited me in Florida. He’s one of my best friends, even though we don’t see much of each other.
The whole Germany trip will take two weeks, and though I will miss my boyfriend terribly (The poor lad has to work, you see.) I know I’ll have a wonderful time. All eight of my great-grandparents were of German descent, so I feel right at home when I am over there.
I won’t have my laptop with me, so I won’t be posting until I return to Florida on July 26th. Sorry, but you’ll have to survive without me for two weeks. While I’m gone you should check out some of my older posts. They’ll keep you entertained.
Have a nice Sunday, everyone.
