I’ve never been to a BMX track, but after taking a look at the photos I’ve posted here I’m beginning to think maybe I should. Are all BMXers as slender as these guys are?
I woke up at seven-thirty this morning, feeling wide awake, so I bounded out of bed, put on my swim trunks, slapped sunscreen on my nose and cheeks, and headed to the beach to take my usual three-mile walk on the shore. Because fall is approaching, we almost always have a nice easterly breeze blowing in the morning, so I wasn’t too warm when I walked along, watching seabirds dive-bomb pods of baitfish in the Gulf.
I’ve just finished writing new material for my novel-in-progress, and after I finish this post I’ll read the morning newspaper before preparing lunch. I like to keep up with the news, and because I don’t care for television, the newspaper is how I keep informed.
After we have lunch, my boyfriend and I will drive into the city to visit the YMCA for a workout and lap-swimming. We try to go there three times per week to help keep in shape, and it’s a nice facility, so I always look forward to going there. And I always feel refreshed by the time I leave there.
Yesterday I ran two miles, here on the island, and I definitely noticed that my stamina is far better than it was two months ago. I think my cardiovascular system is finally adjusting to my distance running now that I am doing it three days a week. I’m losing a little weight, too, which is nice.
All right, everyone, my newspaper is calling me, so I will close this post by wishing you a pleasant Monday, wherever you happy to be right now.
