Have a look at the photo to the left. I saw it for the first time a few years ago, and it conjured up odd feelings inside me. It’s a sad, almost bleak photo that asks more questions than it answers. Why is the boy sitting outside in the rain? Because he wants to or because someone ordered him to. If the latter, who did the ordering? His father? His lover? Who knows, but I think it’s a stunning photo. You can almost hear and smell the falling rain.
Well, despite the end of DST yesterday, I managed to get myself out of bed a little before eight this morning. I took my three-mile walk on the beach, which was wonderful. The sun shone, the air was cool and dry, and the Gulf of Mexico was calm and clear, perfect beach conditions. I came hoe feeling refreshed and ready for the day.
This second photo was taken by my friend Sinal, who takes wonderful photos of young men in his home country of Mexico. There’s a link in my blog roll to the right that will take you to Sinal’s website. It’s pretty interesting.
This will be a typical Monday for me. I’m already done writing for the day. I’ve read the paper and taken care of correspondence, and now I need to water all the plants I have re-potted in recent days, so they stay nice and moist. Around noon I’ll have a quick lunch, and then I will drive into the city to visit the YMCA for a workout and lap-swimming. My boyfriend is going to meet me there, so we can work out and swim together. I need to visit Home Depot afterward, to by some L-brackets for a fence repair I need to accomplish tomorrow, and then I’ll pick up a bottle of wine on my way home. Not a very exciting day, but I’m fine with it.
Have a nice Monday, everyone.
